Hallelujah, with Leonard Cohen, Sharon Robinson, the Webb Sisters and backing musicians. Thanks to Michael & Emily Eavis of Pilton, near Glastonbury, England, for the Leonard Cohen gig. Update: Cohen was at the Big Chill, England, 3rd August 2008 (see that on youtube, too). Now it's his big new autumn tour...coming up! PS - Hallelujah was *not* written by Jeff Buckley!!!
A Ray Davies/Kinks former No. 1 - banned in Australia at the time. Here, a great performance ... a few yards from the reputed burial place of King Arthur and Queen Guenivere, in the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey, where a church was founded almost 2,000 years ago.
Nearing the end of the show, this gem arises. Thanks again to Michael and Emily Eavis. And thanks to those backing Leonard Cohen on this tour. They include Sharon Robinson, Javier Mas, the Webb Sisters, Dino Soldo and Neil Larsen.
'So Long Marianne' is one of *the* memorable, and most popular tracks, from Leonard Cohen's first (vinyl!) LP/album...The 1967 - 'Songs Of Leonard Cohen'. Much loved in many bedsits... :-)
'Anthem'. And so ... it's farewell, from Leonard Cohen & co (who include Sharon Robinson and the Webb Sisters) at Eastnor Castle, Herefordshire, England.
The Kinky2, from Holland, sing Sunny Afternoon + I'm Not Like Anybody Else, at the The Kinks fans annual bash, Boston Arms, London, 19th Nov 2006, which was headlined by The Kast Off Kinks. Hope they perform at Glastonbury one day. They should!!!
Shot on site on June 28th 08. A bit wobbly on the feet at times but can do her stuff and throw a punch. Her first full gig in the UK for 7 months and after hospitalisation.
Mick Avory, one time drummer with the Rolling Stones, joined The Kinks early on, when they offered him more money than the Stones. Here we have rare footage of him singing. These days he's drummer with the Kast Off Kinks - here he is with them on Nov 19th 2006, in London, at the annual Kinks fans charity fundraising bash.
I was really impressed by this band's whole performance. Shot at the Pyramid Stage, Saturday June 28th 2008. They also did a headlining gig on the 'Jazz/World' stage.
With the Webb Sisters from Kent, England. The number is off his gr8 album 'Songs From A Room' (get it if you haven't got it!!! In fact go get all of his albums).
