This is my rendition of Smokin' by Boston. I considered re-making the video portion because my headset fell half way through the song but decided to leave it in for some comic relief.
I DO NOT USE TABS, SORRY, PLEASE DON'T ASK. I just learned this song, after just over 40 years of listening to it...haha. This is for one of my young viewers...
I was asked to explain how to play the solo in Ticket To Ride by one of my subscribers, but since I do not read tabs I made this video...also included is some instruction on the guitar solo for Day Tripper.
I DO NOT USE TABS, SORRY, PLEASE DON'T ASK. I know, the audio mix on this really stinks. I did this for a reason however...just to lay to rest any accusation that I was lip-synching or not really playing. I was inspired to do this after seeing the little 9 year-old boy play it almost flawlessly here on youtube. I don't play it exactly right myself, but I sort of like it that way.
I figured it was about time that I put up a cover by the Beatles. The guitar I'm playing in this is the one I began learning how to play with listening to Beatles records. Nevermind the little Tull bit at the intro, I was just loosening up a bit...HEH.
I DO NOT USE TABS, SORRY, PLEASE DON'T ASK. Okie Dokie! At the request of a few of my subscribers...here is Rocky Racoon! Nevermind my tiny earphones...I was playing to a click track to maintain the tempo to set the backing track. The guitar and vocal are live into the camera mic, the backing track was made in post. Hope you enjoy!
Boy, it's been a very long time since I've played this song! This is another of my favorite acoustic Tull songs. Forgive my mistakes...I had not played this song recently until about 30 minutes before I shot this video. LOL.
Ok, here is one that has been requested...I finally got it done. It's not exactly what I had in mind to do with it but I have limited capabilities with the gear I have. Hope this works! LC
This is my cover of Crosseyed Mary by Jethro Tull. I think Aqualung is about my favorite Tull album...probably because it was my first Tull purchase, and I eagerly learned as many of the tunes on the album as I could. Crosseyed Mary has always been one of my all-time favorite songs EVER, sooooooo...WHOOMP THERE IT IS! ... (more)
Here she is...I've been working on this since March 2006, piecing it together piece by piece. Finally got the neck mounted, the pickups wired, the pick guard fitted...a few minor details left to do on it but I went ahead and put some strings on it and played it! I LOVE IT!
I DO NOT USE TABS, SORRY, PLEASE DON'T ASK. Ok, so NOW everyone can see why it is that I wear a do-rag or a cap on my head...it's nearly blinding isn't it? This is one of my all-time favorite James Taylor tunes...hope I've done it justice...I believe this dates back to about 1970.
I DO NOT USE TABS, SORRY, PLEASE DON'T ASK. A very rough, and hastily recorded, version of Black Water. I basically did this for my friends on the Hamer Fan Club Forum...it's very raw! No backing vocals, just me and the Ventura.
SORRY, NO TABS. I DON'T USE THEM. I have never really been a huge fan of AC-DC but I really like a few of their tunes. Back in Black is one of them. This is just a bit of the guitar jams from the first 2 minutes or so of the song which I made a backing track for with my bass and drum machine. This is a fun riff to play around with.
Messing around with my wife's Ventura again...I can't seem to put this thing down very much...she may lose it, HAHAHA! Anyways, this is a classic Macca acoustic tune from the Beatles White Album.
I have intended to do this for ages and was able to find the time today to "work it out"...no pun intended...LOL. This is one of the all-time classics from the Fab 4, and one of my favs. My double-neck came in handy on the 12-string part. Hope you enjoy.
I DO NOT USE TABS, SORRY, PLEASE DON'T ASK. Trying out some new gear on this one, this is my rendition of James Taylor's Country Road. I still have a lot to learn about using my new stuff but this is a start.
This is my rendition of ZZ Top's hit song Tush. I don't hit all of the notes in the solo, and I'm probably not playing the rhythm exactly like Billy Gibbons, but WHOOOMP there it is!
I DO NOT USE TABS, SORRY, PLEASE DON'T ASK. I hope this won't offend too many devout Beatles fans out there, but I have been playing this tune like this for so long that I figured I'd probably botch the lyrics if I tried to do it the way it was originally. LOL. This is my cover of Back In The USSR with a slight change in the lyrics.
Well, not only for critics, but for those who support me, too. This could also be considered like a mission statement...a few insights about why I'm doing what I do, and a big thank you for all of you who have been supporting me from the beginning.
Sort of a short cover of Thick As A Brick, but mostly a verbal tribute to Ian Anderson, one of my biggest musical heros! Ok...this is sheer vanity on my part...LOL! Hope you enjoy it all the same.
