What is techno? Ha,... such an easy question to answer... electronic music right? maybe not. Let me ask the question and give you something to think about. Maybe classical music was the techno music of its time. Ever think of that?
The Horrorist performing Automatic @ Kinetik Festival 2008 in Montreal Canada. It was recorded on an Nokia N95, and the audio is distorted. The club was VERY loud, so I imagine it overdrove the mic.
Wondered what DEMF was like... for me it was a chance to hang out with friends and shoot some video. Having spent most of the event at the various kiosks I took the opportunity to get a quick interview with Aaron Carl. Having just heard his new EP and in the excitement of the event it was a pleasure to catch up.
It's all hand held camera action... so my apologies for the motion sickness.
The Horrorist performing One Night in NYC & Flesh is the Fever Live @ Kinetik Festival 2008 in Montreal Canada. It was recorded on an Nokia N95, and the audio is distorted. The club was VERY loud, so I imagine it overdrove the mic.
My life is in boxes, physical boxes in various storage lockers around the city. Here is an update on the new studio space and a brief tour of the layout. It might not look perfect, but definitely a step up from my previous basement.
Jeff Milligan playing 4 decks at Beats Breaks and Culture (2007) Toronto Canada. I have yet to see another artist who can cut and paste techno the way Jeff does. If only they'd let me record more of his set....
This episode is a goodbye to my current studio, but the Lx7 podcast is not over. It's been a summer of planning, for season 3 of the show. After 2 years of working in the basement, it's time I got organized and had something more.
here is my very first music video ever. It was shot in 1 day, edited in 1 evening, and posted here. I liked the experience, and even after this vLogDeathmatch stuff, I plan on shooting a couple of more. Check out the videos I'm competing against at http://www.vlogdeath match.com.
It's been an interesting adventure with this vLog stuff, but where I'm most comfortable is back in teh studio. So here's a quick shot of me just before I settle in and dump my interview of Mike Huckaby from the porta studio. After what seems like a whirlwind of a month, which is only half over, I'm more then happy to end off this extended vLog week back where it all started.
