This is the Black Widow Spider that lives in my shed. Crazy!! And yes that's an egg sack there. They are really common here in Southern California and I've only ever encountered one that seemed aggressive. They seem to be aware of people and will as a defensive measure inject a "Warning" dose of venom without killing you. It can make you very sick and cause permanent nervous system damage.
