Made during an embed with the Parachute Regiment in Gereshk, Helmand Province, in the autumn of 2006, five years after I first went to Afghanistan in the wake of 9/11. The men I and Kalpesh Lathigra, the photographer, were with had just returned from the battleground of Sangin.
