Aug 20th, 2007 a baby humpback beached itself lost in the shallows off of North Beach, Haida GWaii. It was found early in the morning and soon after the community gathered to help the whale back into the water and to it's mother. A great experience. Picked up by CBC News. Shot by Andrew Naysmith

Here is where i do most of my work, scrubbing the floors and such, i REALY hate those engines.... GM detroit deisels, V16s. There good at turning diesel into fumes, heat and noise.... But, ah, they do the job. These were engines outof big rocktrucks, and weve kept them going for a good 10 years, rebuilding each only once at least. boat is regestered for 2600 HP.

The Queen Charlottes are spectacular, with wonderful camping. The large specimen rocks in the stone circle all swivel. Raven knows his world so well that he was puzzled by the stack of rocks we made to mark where our camp path led from the beach.
