Japanese Zero-fighters of the legendary 204 Sq. take off from the IJN airbase in Rabaul to intercept American fighter-planes and bombers.
The film showing the Zero-fighters taking off was taken on the 17th January, 1944. On this day, a total of 79 Japanese planes shot down 12 of the 117 intruders (F6F, F4U, P-38, SBD and TBF) without any loss.
