Bargain subnotebook (sub-$1000) with 7 inch swivel screen and less than 2.2lb in weight. Running AMD Geode 500Mhz processor and Window XP Home, it is a good companion for web browsing and office applications. http://www.icube.us/ product_detail.cfm/p roduct/Kohjinsha_KJ- SA1/model/KJ-SA1.cfm

I did this to see what sort of sounds you can get from the Casio SA series of tiny keyboards. Not much room to fit anything though! I will put these mods onto an SA-5 as there is a bit more space available

Circuit Bent Casio SA-1. I put some weird stuff in on this bend... like a transistor and capacitor in series... the bend would only work with the tester crocodile clip wires too which was harsh... I had to shove them in the case with the circuit board! haha. The potentiometer and red button don't do much but sometimes they'll get the keyboard out of a crash.

Using that awesome program that allows you to convert midis to 8-bit files (such as the music used in the NES era), here is Sonic's SA1 theme :]
The program can be downloaded here: http://www.geocities .co.jp/SiliconValley -SanJose/8700/P/GXSC CB236/indexE.htm

I've recently received an old Casio SA-1 from a friend. I couldn't leave my fingers of it so i bent it. I got that circuit what seems to be some kind of "square-waveform-osc illator". I've added an LDR on it so i can change the effect with light and my fingers. (Like a Theremin)
