This is the "Tales of Terror" section of Thrasher's "A Blast From The Past and Present" skaterock video from 1986. Some of the earliest modern street skating on video from Mark Gonzales, Steve Rocco and Jesse Martinez. Even back then Gonz had the best style.
This is still my favorite video part of all time.
Tommy G's part in Future Primitive was the first real street skating video segment, and the first to spotlight the streets of SF as the natural skatepark that they were and are.
No one ever skated with the kind of style that Tommy had. A true legend.
Not the best video quality, but still some great stuff. Natas was always way ahead of his time. How many backside tailslides or frontside feeble grinds were you seeing in 1988/89? Not too damn many...
This tape fell into my hands and there was so much good stuff on it, I decided to put the highlights together. So, here's a compilation of footage featuring some of the local skaters in Grass Valley. Enjoy.
Another couple of minutes of skating in the Grass Valley area (& a little Yuba City). Alex D. starts it off with some ledge lines, followed by Aaron, Chris K., Forest, Brad, Me, Cody, and Forest gets the ender hucking one over the Arby's drive-through. Good times.
