My final video of Björk's performance at Coachella. I had to really lower the quality of this video in order to meet Youtube's restrictions on video size and length. Both songs, plus some better views of Björk's wild audio/visual Mac based sound machines!
A fan video of Björk performing "Pagan Poetry" at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Friday April 27th, 2007. It isn't the best quality video, and the girl in front of me was crazy with the dancing, but it was an amazing show!
Another song from Metric's set on Sunday at the Virgin Music Festival in Toronto. This is a very long version of "Rock Me Now" from the delayed album, "Grow Up and Blow Away".
There are two songs in this video. First you get an odd version of "Cover Me" (which seems a little strange to play at a live show like this). The second song in this video is a version of "Wanderlust" which is a little heavy on the horns, but still sounds beautiful.
A soothing version of "Pagan Poetry" as performed at the Virgin Music Festival. This version seems much lighter on the bass than the version from Coachella earlier this year, and there are several little differences throughout the song. I guess that no two Bjork performances are exactly the same!
Sianna Lee & Phil Jamieson performing a cover of the Feeder song "Can't Stand Losing You". This is a live performance, recorded during the closing credits of the Australian show Rockwiz. The show is quite popular in Melbourne, and is filmed live in the Gershwin Room at the Esplanade Hotel in St. Kilda.
This is the first song the Smashing Pumpkins played at the Virgin Music Festival in Toronto on September 9th, 2007. It's a very long intro in whch they combine th song "United States", with an odd version of the National Anthem. This is the only song I could record of their show that night, and the other Pumpkins' show I was going to record was prevented by rain.
I can't figure out the title of this song, but I'm pretty sure it will be on their upcoming album. If you know what the title is, let me know and I'll update the video name!
Update -
It seems the title of this song is definately going to be "Twilight." They have performed it numerous times since this show, and it always sounds great!
Another video from the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. This song is Bachelorette, and I can't help but think these songs sound better live with the brass ensemble, than on the CDs.
I wish I could have gotten more of Metric's set, but the airlines lost my camera's memory cards!! Here is on of the three videos I managed to get back home with me.
This is a slightly playful version of "Oceania". She begins by saying that this song was performed at the Olympics (which is the most I've ever heard her say at a show, if you don't count introducing the band). It looks as if Bjork was having a little fun with this song; she dances around the stage at one point, and plays to the crowd a couple of times.
Bjork performing "Hunter" live at the Virgin Festival in Toronto. Sorry for being so far out, but the crowd was very dense and kind of hard to get through.
This was the first song of the set, in which the crowd gets a little rough. Towards the end of the song Emily's mic cuts out and she continues to sing, which you can barely hear over the crowd.
This video is pretty blurry, as the focus locked onto a camera phone at the start of the song. It doesn't matter too much when the energy of the crowd picks up again. Sorry about that, but the audio is still pretty decent.
