Mary lives next door to me here in London. She's 77 now.
She recently found lots old footage from her childhood & I persuaded her to transfer it to DVD. I edited a few clips and put them to music.
This was the King's Road in Chelsea, London, in April 1969.
The song is sung by Barry Ryan and is available on the wonderful CD of his two 1969 albums, entitled 'Singing The Songs Of Paul Ryan 1968-69' http://www.amazon.co m/Singing-Songs-Paul -Ryan-1968-69/dp/B00 09K9PBG
Although this song is called Privilege & appeared on the movie soundtrack album, for some weird reason it wasn't used in the film or released as a single.
It did appear on the succesful Privilege EP though.
I think it's a great song & should have been a hit in its own right. What do you think?
Sandie Shaw Autumn 1967 hit...I think it got to number 15 in the charts, in England.
It's been overlooked in retrospect, but received a lot of radio plays in the early days of Radio One.
My next door neighbour Mary found hours of old footage from her childhood (she's 77 now).
I persuaded her to transfer it to DVD.
Here's a clip of Mary & her brother visiting the penguins in Regent's Park, London, in 1931.
Pretty adorable!
(I've downloaded some more footage. Please see my videos).
