The Kata Team from Japan Karate-Do Ryobu-Kai demonstrates their first-place techniques during the finals at the 2001 USA-NKF National Championships in Houston Texas. After the performance of the kata, they demonstrate the applications of the techniques in the kata. The members of the team are Chad Eagan, Patrick Martin and Makoto Braxton.
On 16 August 1997, members of the Karate CyberDojo got together in Dallas. This clip show demonstrations of the differet versions of Bassai Dai, performed by members of the Karate CyberDojo.

This kata was developed by Yasuhiro Konishi and Kenwa Mabuni, under the guidance of Morihei Ueshiba. This kata was created specifically for the purpose of teaching self-defense techniques to women in the 1930s.
