During our trip to Saut d'Eau, we met many pilgrims who had come to worship. We also met other colorful charactres who helped make the trip memorable. View the preview to the Saut d'Eau 2008 pilgrimage DVD.
We chased down Carimi as they closed down the parade on Eastern Parkway. They were the last major Haitian float to pass by, and was the only Haitian float to make it all the way to Grand Army Plaze. They were accompanied by Boujou of Djakout Misik and Wyclef Jean.

On Thursday, October 18, 2007 Wyclef Jean introduced his latest album, "Carnival Vol 2 - Memoirs of an Immigrant", at a press-only ceremony at New York City's SOBs night club. During the ceremony, he was presented a genuine dimplamtic passport by Haitian ambassador Raymond Joseph. Noteable people present at the ceremony included music entreprenuer Russel Simmons.
HaitiXchange on TNH (Television nationale d'Haiti.) We were rumaggin through some old videos and found this one of an appearance on TNH back in August of 2003. Years later we're still around with the saame basic goals.

Haitian rapper, Mecca aka Grimo, had a record release party at New York's famed SoBs nightclub on Monday, May 7th, 2007. The place was jumping, and was filled with a veritable who's who in Haitian Hip-Hop.

The weather was nice, and Haitians were out in force for Sunday's Haitian Flag Day celebrations in Irvington , New Jersey. This is one of the many celebrations to take place in Haitian communities everywhere, to celebrate Haitian Flag Day, which is officially on May 18th.
With a newly released album, "Reference," in full effect, BelO is raring to be heard--not just as singer/songwriter, but also as Haiti's advocate of peace. The "Reference" tour has been leaving its footprints on the musical scene in Haiti, France, Canada and Africa. New York had a chance to see BelO Saturday August 23rd, 2008 at a record store CD signing in Brooklyn, NY.
Here is yet another Haitian dance craze, as demonstrated by 'timoun nan zòn nan" - Kids from the neighborhood. Tyhe Limbo dance, made popular by reggae artsist Elephant Man's song by the same name, is taking Haiti by storm!

Vwadezil appears poised to do it again! Their song for Kanaval 2008 is out and hitting the airwaves. True to Vwadezil style, their song " Ki Kote'w Ta Ye" (Where Would You Be), comments on Haitian sociopolitical realities, and is full of word play and innuendo.
