Unrestored scopitone for the 1964 France Gall classic 'Laisse Tomber Les Filles', written by Serge Gainsbourg.
The red tint is because the Eastman film stock used was not of lasting quality, and most of the French scopitones have degraded over time.
It's back! My own edit of the rarely-seen 2nd Eurovision performance of 'Poupée de cire, poupée de son', performed after she was announced as winner and accepted the prize.
Includes footage of Gall and Serge Gainsbourg accepting their prize.
From the UK broadcast, with English commentary.
Serge Gainsbourg and France Gall perform 'Comic Strip', with France Gall rather unconvincingly miming Brigitte Bardot's part. Yet another instance where you can't help wincing for poor France Gall and the 'dirty old man-magnet' role she was too often forced into. Awkward, but still another compelling piece of viewing from the French 60s pop archives.
1971 performance on German TV show Hitparade.
Apparently France appeared on this show 6 times, but the archive film was destroyed in a fire at the TV station. Thankfully this one survived!
Patricia Carli was born in Italy, raised in Belgium and became a successful singer in France in the 1960s. 'Demain tu te maries' ('Tomorrow You're Getting Married'), which she wrote herself, was a hit for her in 1963.

60s French TV footage, with some of the 'Ne Sois Pas Si Bête' TV clip. Includes some live performance footage of 'Le Temps De La Rentrée'
(Originally posted by me a while back. This is my own edit, clipped from a France Gall special.)
In 1966, France Gall performed this song on 3 programs: Douce France, JT 1ère chaine and Moins de 20 ans. I'm not sure which one this is from, but I'll update this info if I find out.
