4 week old Sheltie "Goodness" spends a little time exploring the living room under the watchful eye of his father Figaro (tricolor sheltie). Sasha (sable sheltie, unrelated) also checks out the puppy.
Lyric escaped over the edge of the X-pen door the evening of 3/4/08 for the first time. Here he demonstrates the ease of his technique for climbing out.

Emma's puppies are all full and happy after a meal of solid food followed by nursing mommy. Lyric is so happy with his full belly that he's wagging his tail in his sleep.
The puppies are now 5 weeks and 3 days old and are enjoying a wild romp after breakfast when they all stop to look and listen. The sound that gets their attention is one of our other shelties dragging a food bowl in the kitchen. I can't resist an audience though and give them an impromptu "hello puppies" good morning song.

Sheltie puppy Goodness has his time in the spotlight. Goodness was the second puppy born to Emma and Figaro on 1/25/08. He is the largest of the puppies and is bi-black in color
Mata del Animal sola composed by Estevez (Venezeuela) and performed by the University Singers of UNC-A with solos by Russell Brickhouse and Kevin Koyasu in the section shown here. Conductor: Dr. Melodie Galloway.
The remaining three sheltie puppies play indoors on this rainy Saturday morning with momma Emma and Auntie Sasha. Goodness (bi-black male) has a great time barking at Sasha. Symphony (sable male) joins in to taunt Sasha while momma Emma plays with Harmony (sable female) and with a toy.
The puppies are 4 weeks old and have teeth now. Emma is weaning the puppies; she is nursing them briefly and we supplement that with "puppy mash" (rice cereal, water, canned puppy food, and puppy kibble).
Mercy is the runt of the litter but that doesn't stop him from wrestling and exploring with all of his brothers and sisters. Mercy is the first-born of Emma and Figaro's litter of 1/25/08 and when he's old enough he has a new home scheduled with Shannon!
My niece Melissa came to visit with her two children, Abby and Reid. We took the three remaining puppies out to the yard to play (the other three were adopted last week). The adult dogs remained in the fenced in deck area. The puppies are now 8 weeks old: Goodness (black male), Symphony (sable male with white left shoulder), and Harmony (sable female).
