Lately MR63 trains have been appearing on the Orange line, but I don't think I've ever seen one needed on a Sunday morning. I also saw this same train going back home in the evening.
The amazing folks at the STO Garage offered to bring out Montreal's ex25-013 from their garage so that we could ride in it and photograph it. Here's a compilation of what we experienced.
The guys at the STO were extremely nice to us during our visit. There was an ex-Montreal New Look that they still use in Service that was further back in the lot, and the mechanic offered to move the buses out of the way so we could see our bus.
Riding with the driver in the cabin from the new Laval metro station De La Concorde through the longest stretch of underground tunnel in the entire network into the new Laval station Cartier.
MR63 Metro lead-car #81-508. Closing its doors at Monk and traveling through the tunnel heading towards Angrignon in Manual Drive Mode. If you listen carefully you can hear the buzz of the overspeed alarm.
There is a pilot project going on with the STM's MR73 metro cars. When the doors are about to close there are a sequence of chimes that allow people to know that the doors are closing.
A ride on the last remaining White-Stripe Classic in STM's fleet. Camera was facing outside the back window as we watched cars, people and houses pass by and listen to the great turbo engine sound of the 6V92TA.
