From his days with the group "NG la Banda" to his time with the exceptional singer Issac Delgado and now with his group "Klimax", Piloto es el hombre que manda! Djembe performance Group "Simbe' " play undercover in Guinea, West Africa. These guys are really throwin' down!!! The lead djembe is a shredder. They are playing outside of Mamady Keita's compound for the Tabaski Holiday. Very nice stuff. www.rhythmtraders.co m
Here we have a "Dununba" (in this context meaning "Gathering of Women to dance"). The Women form a large circle and griots tell stories and the ladies dance. Also, we have the "Dance of the Strong Man". Some great drumming and dancing and a great view of African life.
Petite Mamady plays for Grand Mamady on a day that students pay their respect to their teachers. You may remember petite Mamady from the movie "Djembefola". He was around 8 or 9 in the movie. He is 19 in this video. Petite Mamady is the second player in the clip.

The two masters of the djembe play together at Famoudou's home. This is as good as it gets. The two masters sharing some knowledge. There is a camera blocking the view for part of the video but there is a lot of good footage here.
Eduardo Velazquez plays an outdoor concert with Chispa y los Complices. In previous clips you have seen Eduardo in a pop setting and a jazz setting. This is him playing some very nice Timba groove.
Some members of Afro Cuba de Matanzas play Guaguanco, Yambu and Columbia. Some very nice quinto and conjon work and, as usual with these guys, an awesome groove.
Master timbalero Jose Sanchez takes a great solo. One of our favorites. Jose is a very creative and innovative player. He is key in the developement of the Timba drum set style. His influence can be felt throughout the new generation of Cuban drum set artists. He plays here in Vancouver B.C. with Ignacio Cervantes (El Chispa of "Chispa y los Complices"

He is the premier bell maker of Cuba. Very nice playing
